May 8, 2016. 8 a.m. The 5K Color Run began at the Seattle Center.
The weather was the most Seattlish. Cloudy and chilly. But it didn’t seem to kill the passion of the crowd.
8:00 a.m: The jog began
Participants start under these rainbows and finish under these rainbows. What’s waiting at the end of these rainbows are trophies and packs of color powder for the after party.
9:00-10:00 a.m: Powder shower
Different color of powders is thrown onto the participants to remind them how many kilometers they have accomplished. In this photo, the 4th color is being thrown, reminding the crowd that four kilometers have been accomplished at this point.
10:00 a.m: Reaching the finish line
Two friends elated to reach the finishing line, as the one been carried was desperate for breakfast after the jog.
10:00-11:00: The 5-K after party
Crowds gather at the after party when DJ amplifies the volume of the latest pop songs on air, where the crowd is encouraged to throw their packs of powder in the air. Soon enough, the gloomy sky is turned into a colorful scenery with cheers.
In fact the most fun 5K, period.
